Freshman provide glimpse into the future of Notre Dame football
classicground.blogspot.com - It was a coming out party for Golden Tate, who made 3 spectacular catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. Clearly Weis needs get Golden more touches. Golden Tate single handedly made the game respectable for Notre Dame. He's got to get on the field more. I was impressed with Duval Kamara as well. He did drop one, but displayed the big-time talent he possesses. The first half was darn ugly, but for the first time our offense showed some life in the 2nd half. I don't think there's a quarterback controversy unless Clausen doesn't shake off the hip pointer.

The freshman sure are making their impact felt. Golden Tate attacks the ball when it's in the air like all great wide receivers do. His catches were all phenomenal. For the first time all year I actually fell pretty good after this loss. It may not be by leaps and bounds, but improvement is there.
time for all freshman and sophomores. we need to get someone other than zibby experience back there on punts. he seems to only fair catch these days anyway...and forget to fair catch sometimes...

Nice breakdown. Timc, I agree with you that somebody else should get a try returning punts ... if nothing else, the experience will come in handy next year.

I was surprised that Purdue didn't blitz more. They just sat there and let us throw. Smith/Neal are refreshing. Tate/Kamara/West/Parris/Grimes all looked good.
