Tom Lemming seems to think this kid is a real player. Even though he was a "plan b" guy doesn't mean he can't make an impact at ND.

Other plan B guys = Jeff Samardzija, AJ Hawk, Laurinitis....the list goes on and on.

What is hard to comprehend/evaluate is the fact that kids max out their potential at different times. It's like the biggest 8th grader who doesn't even make the 9th grade basketball team...or, the 6th rounder who doesn't play much until his third year in the pros when his body has finally developed fully.

B. Smith appears to have the heart and hunger it takes to start at ND for 2+ years.
