Notre Dame Opponent Poll 8/30

Hey guys, came up with a new weekly feature for the blog - a ranking of our opponents. This week's was rough because other than USC, every other opponent looked pretty bad. Still, this should be a nice little feature for the site to look forward to each Sunday. Anyway, here's the first poll. More...

Good analysis. I was however, unimpressed with UM's defense. Utah ran down the field at will. If the 3 turnovers did not occur the game would have been over in the third quarter. Two of the turnovers appeared self induced and not a result of defensive effort. Finally the Utes self destructed 3 times on penalties (clock management!) at first & goal. They would easily have had 35 points by half time.
Stanford should not be overlooked-they played well. In fact, better than Michigan.

I agree JNND. Utah's offense went in "let's hang on and win" mode in the 2nd half, which made UM's defense look a lot better than it played. Utah should have won the game by 14-21 points.
