Absolutely correct. Everyone quotes how McCarthy is the leading tackler, but his coverage skills are weak. Saw in at least 4 games where he was 2 steps late in covering swing passes that should have been 2-3 yd. gaines which turned into 7-9 yd. ones. The tackling statistic has masked the fact that a strong safety must cover as well as tackle. He is too slow to the ball. And, it would appear, Brown is the next best option unless Slaughter moves back to safety. No one else makes sense.
