Not much has changed with Brady's situation in Cleveland, but speculation continues. More...

As a diehard Notre Dame fan and a huge Browns fan, I really don't know what I'm supposed to take from this article...
The Browns fan side of me thinks it's ridiculous to even suggest that Phil Savage made the wrong move by tying up Derek Anderson with a new contract. It's not that I am a Derek Anderson fan by any stretch. The day Brady Quinn landed in Cleveland was one of the best days of my life. But It's no secret that you need two capable arms in the NFL. Derek Anderson is not the real deal, and anyone who watches the Browns faithfully knows why. Brady Quinn is the future in Cleveland and everybody knows it. But giving Quinn a year or two to hold the clipboard when you have a guy that is playoff capable is the right thing to do. It's the logical thing to do.
Secondly, the title of this article would indicate that there is an "update" on the "Brady Quinn Situation" and then goes on to say nothing... In fact in the teaser it even reads: "Not much has changed with Brady's situation in Cleveland..." so it's basically a blog article about nothing with a misleading title.
As for the claims that Cleveland should have left Brady Quinn in the last game of the 2007 season after Derek Anderson got patched up and was ready to come back in are just absurd. All that would have done is fuel a quarterback controversy even further.
Brady Quinn was the #2 quarterback, Anderson went down temporarily and Quinn took his place until he returned. That's the way it is supposed to work.
The bottom line is this, Derek Anderson is going to play himself out of a job at some point. He consistently puts his receivers in danger with errant throws that are just accurate enough to count as a reception on his stat sheet. Unfortunately, when an offense has as much success as Cleveland's did last year, people have a hard time believing that it actually has the potential to be even better. But in this instance that's the case.
