Notre Dame added their 20th recruit of the class of 2007 in Ohio prep kicker/punter Brandon Walker. Walker will be stepping into a pretty heated battle for the starting place-kicker job next fall. More...

With the lack of kicking success over the past 10 or so years since Craig Hentrich was on duty, I'm actually excited to sign a kicker/punter. Hopefully he can make 40 yard field goals and provide a few touchbacks.

Every year going into the season we scratch our heads wondering why so many other teams have a solid kicker, and we don't.

I've read and heard very good things about Mr. Walker. I agree with you guys, we need a solid kicker. No more going for it on 4th down from 40 yards out when putting 3 on the board should be automatic.
