"I was real excited about (going to the junior day) but I ended up not really liking it," McDonald said. "The coaches, they weren't talking to me too much. (USC linebackers) Coach (Ken) Norton didn't even know who I was yet (USC head coach Pete) Carroll was like 'Anthony, how's it going?' But Norton didn't know who the hell I was. I wasn't going there.
"Right then, that was done. Ever since I got the offer, I always knew I was going to go (to Notre Dame)."
