Recruiting down the stretch

Notre Dame recently offered linebacker Brian Smith and kicker Brandon Walker after missing on their primary targets. Walker visited last weekend and it looks like Brian Smith will this weekend. Hopefully Weis and staff can pull of some late recruiting magic. More...

Brain Smith would be a huge get...we need linebackers and he's not just a thrown in, but rather a pretty solid player who's dad played at Notre Dame. Why didn't we offer earlier?

Good question weisnd. I guess our staff figured we had guys like Chris Donald and Lorenzo Edwards, but not Brian Smith is a critical piece to this class and our future defense.
Brandon Walker may just be a kicker, but we need him pretty badly.
